313 Engagement Boards
313 Engagement Boards are the physical component to our engagement efforts. While 313 Table hopes to foster engagement and collaboration in a digital format, not everyone in our community has reliable internet access to join us here. 313 Engagement Boards serve to make sure that everyone in our community has an opportunity to engage in the discussion.
Design
We intend to install 313 Engagement Boards in both residential and commercial sites around Detroit that are open to a collaborative redevelopment process with the Community. The question board design will be a simple black background with white lettering for the questions and 313table.org at the bottom of the sign and may be framed in mural artwork. We will also be providing an assortment of paint pens for the community to respond. The image below is a miniature prototype of our engagement board design.
Neighborhood Boards
Neighborhood boards will be placed on vacant lots to ideally be utilized as the first collaborative project for that community. Residents from each Neighborhood will be invited to join our Neighborhood Build-Up Program to find support in both the management of the board and future projects. Board activation will include lot landscaping and maintenance.
Commercial Site Boards
Commercial boards serve to both kickstart the collaborative redevelopment process of that site, while also providing an opportunity for surrounding projects/interests to engage with the boards as well. These boards can either be installed as signs directly into the ground (for vacant lots) or integrated into the building’s boarded up sections.
